been there, done that. The blue hole is a limestone sinkhole which is
almost perfectly round. It is over 1000 feet across and over 400 feet
deep. The walls of the dive are steep and not until you reach levels
below 110 feet do you begin to see the stalactites that are the roof
of this monstrous cave. It is hard to imagine that just a little over
10,000 years ago this formation was an above ground cave. What the Blue
Hole lacks in coral and aquatic life it overwhelms with a true sense

and pass by fields of sugar cane. Once at Tower Hill, your journey through
the New River begins. As you make your way towards the Lamanai ruins,
you will encounter a rich variety of bird life including the rare Jabiru
Stork.
You will also encounter animals indigenous to the area such as the river otter, turtles, crocodiles and monkeys. At Lamanai, your experienced guides will navigate you through trails of jungle to the temples, which majestically perch on the waters edge. Your guides will also take time to explain the history of the site, as well as the nature of the surrounding area. At the site you will also enjoy a lunch of local cuisine.
